Markus Fischer
Markus Fischer studied food chemistry at the Technical University of Munich. 1997 he got his PhD degree and in 2003 he finished his 'Habilitation' for Food Chemistry and Biochemistry. 2004, his research was honoured by the Kurt-Täufel-Award from the GDCh (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker). Since 2006 he is Director of the Institute of Food Chemistry at the University of Hamburg. Since July 2011, the Food Science activities of the University of Hamburg are subject to coordination by the Hamburg School of Food Science which was founded by Markus Fischer. The HSFS is located at the University of Hamburg. Prof. Fischer is member of numerous scientific boards as well as of the German Society of Food Chemistry and member of the extended executive board of the International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry (IAEAC). His work is documented in more than 250 scientific publications.
