(Micro-)plastic assessment in freshwater ecosystems and the environment
Florian Faure
Dr. Florian Faure is an environmental engineer and researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the identification and quantification of microplastics in surface waters, including their interaction with micropollutants and biota exposition to this pollution. Among the first to demonstrate that freshwater ecosystems are affected by these contaminants, he now tackles their sources and fate in surface waters and terrestrial environments. He also works on method development for the assessment and monitoring of plastic pollution as well as the systematic identification of microplastic particles in various environmental matrices.
